V1G / V2G solutions

Summary

Discover the smart charging solutions V1G & V2G Dreev is presenting, essential building blocks for the energy transition and TCO decrease for EV's. Under the hood of your electric vehicle lies an unsuspected potential… to participate in a better use of energy. The V1G solution allows us to select the cheapest hours to charge your EV's on your behalf by trading on the daily spot market to give you have access to 30 to 50% electricity cost decrease. Passing through the supervision tool we have in site for your charging stations, this solution is effortless and free of charge as Dreev is only taking commission fees on the savings they are doing for you. The Vehicle-To-Grid, or V2G, allows you to use your electric vehicles as a means of energy storage and to re-inject electricity into your site for various services when they are not in use. Electricity is stored in the vehicle’s battery when it is cheap and decarbonized. This energy is then re-injected to the building during peak consumption periods, when electricity is expensive and carbon intensive, thus avoiding the use of CO₂ emitting thermal power plants. Both V1G & V2G provided by Dreev are great tools to cut down your electricity bills and CO₂ emissions of the electricity you get from the grid.

Tech: Following on from the bi-directional (Vehicle-to-Grid) charging system deployed from 2019, DREEV1 now has a smart charging solution. This reduces electricity bills by charging vehicles when electricity is plentiful and competitively priced. With almost 100 MW on 1 January 2024, DREEV has become a key player in smart charging in France, and is aiming to control more than 1 GW of flexibility by 2030. DREEV's solution makes it possible to control vehicle charging according to electricity market price signals and to meet drivers' mobility needs. This solution optimises customers' bills in real time, while respecting their operating constraints and the characteristics of their equipment, and depending on local solar production where available. DREEV's smart charging solution is now being deployed by a number of major companies, including the RATP. At the end of 2022, France could count more than one million electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids on the road. According to a recent study 2 by AVERE, this figure is set to rise to 12 million by 2035. Many of these electric loads are controllable and flexible. Furthermore, RTE considers3 that the flexibility associated with recharging electric vehicles (charge control and Vehicle-to-Grid4) represents significant potential3 for guaranteeing the balance of the electricity network. It points out that the acceleration in the development of variable renewable energies could lead to a need for flexibility corresponding to 2 to 5 million intelligent recharging stations, as early as 2030. Some of the recharging of electric vehicles can be shifted to the best times, thereby relieving the system, for example by favouring charging when there is massive production of electricity from renewable sources.
