Vehicle-to-Building User Interface Learning Device (V2BUILD)

Summary

This project has carried out techno-economic modelling of bidirectional charging in several commercial building contexts. The results of this analysis are being made available to the public for free through an interactive online tool which will allow various stakeholders to learn about the potential benefits of V2B and assess whether it would be suitable for their building.

Focus: Technical & Commercial

Segment: Individual & Commercial

Charging location: Home & Work

Tech: The V2BUILD online tool (https://v2build.streamlit.app/) allows users to select between three commercial building archetypes (office, fleet depot and hospital) and explore the potential for bi-directional charging to provide bill savings and reduce peak demand. The identified economic benefits are compared to a baseline scenario of smart uni-directional charging to demonstrate the additional benefits offered by bi-directional charging capability
